From Selma, AL by way of Cleveland, Miesha Tate Ander moved to New York City on her own at age 24 to pursue her passion for graphic design. Even with a full-time job... rent, bills, and art supplies meant plenty of nights of "less-than-glamorous" meals (hungrier to see that dream realized!). Miesha landed her first "official" design job at 26, but made the tough decision to resign a year and a half later upon realizing there was no room for growth in sight. Someone told her she was making a "huge mistake."
Well, here's what happened...
Miesha was hired as the first in-house creative by one of the world's biggest firms at age 29, and founded the firm’s in-house creative department at 30. Across five years, she oversaw a team of designers on projects previously awarded to high-profile agencies and became a "creative hybrid" of sorts, able to tackle any project from concept to completion.
Miesha started her own design company at age 34— bringing A-game strategic thinking and design to the table for the last 8 years to effectively position corporate brands and help businesses achieve their marketing objectives. With clients from NYC, to Boston, Los Angeles, and beyond, her success has been driven 100% by referrals because of her work ethic, disposition, unique talent, resourcefulness, and reputation for design & strategy specifically to meet each company's goals & objectives.
Now married with two young children, Miesha now focuses on coaching and consulting other small business owners and non-profits by providing the creative resource, guidance, and motivational support toward success. She's always felt most fulfilled when sharing her talent and service with the greater good— including Habitat for Humanity, Susan G. Komen Greater NYC, Hope North Uganda, and The ASPCA, among others.
"This portfolio is in honor of my Selmian lineage and my children. Thank you for taking the time to visit and getting to know a little about me. And thank you if you've ever been a part of this journey with me— I'm truly grateful!"
